Student Welfare

Compared to other colleges and universities Norland College is a lot smaller. This means that teaching groups are kept small, a maximum of 16, allowing students to ask questions and hold discussions during lectures as a whole group.

Norland’s size also means that we are able to offer students a high level of support; each student is allocated a personal tutor and can go to them for support and advice for any college related or personal problem they may encounter. This support is continued once a student leaves Norland and begins work through the Norland Agency. The Agency offers advice and support throughout a Norlander’s career.

One to one support, especially for those students with a specific learning difficulty, is available from the college's dedicated student support lecturer.
Students at Norland College get to know each other really well and are therefore able to support each other while forming life long friendships. Each year a head and deputy head of students is elected by the students who head up the social committee and liaise with college staff on behalf of the student body.

For students who will be under 18 when starting at Norland College, please see Norland College's Child Protection Policy .
