College Facilities

Norland College is housed in an elegant Grade II listed Georgian Villa which was originally owned by the Duke of York, (son of King George III). This beautiful historic building has been fully equipped with all of the facilities and resources to make it a functional and conducive learning environment, whilst retaining the building’s character.

At the heart of the college is the impressive conference room which is used for lectures, conferences and other college events, including the student Christmas party. This is where some of the college’s extensive archives are displayed, showing Norland’s rich history.

All of the college lecture rooms are fitted with interactive white boards allowing lecturing staff to incorporate a wide range of resources in their lectures including videos and web links.

The learning resource centre has extensive resources to ensure that students have everything they need for their study, including an extensive library including relevant journals and research papers and a computer suite. The dedicated Learning Resource Centre Coordinator is always on hand to help students source the information they need and with how to reference their research in work they produce.

Norland College also has areas that are dedicated to the practical lectures and sessions that make up part of the Norland Diploma. These areas include an area set up with working examples of children’s nurseries, a space specifically for creative skills and an offsite space used for home economics lectures complete with cooking facilities.

Norland has its own nursery based just a 5 minute walk from the college. The nursery provides families of Bath with childcare for children aged from 4 months to 5 years. It works to all of the standards that are taught at the college and embodies the same values. For more information about Norland Nursery have a look at the website www.norlandnursery.co.uk.
